So I enjoy
Uncyclopedia. It is a funny site on the Wikia network of wikis that is generally clean enough for children to read. Uncyclopedia includes a category on Daniel Brandt, the articles are mostly humorous lampoons on Brandt's hypocritical views that nobody is allowed to document his actions while he documents and exposes innocent people, encouraging online and offline harassment. One of the pages really hits close to home:
The text reads:
Help harass Wikipedia administrators
Many of the 900 Wikipedia administrators can be identified through advanced stalking
and illegal techniques. This will discourage editors from applying for adminship, and encourage others to be less considerate of those who would rather not be watched for the rest of their lives.
If this is not a cry out for help from an editor who has been bullied by Brandt I don't know what it. Yes it is a comedy site,
but it wouldn't be funny if it weren't true. This page was created
19:42, June 4, 2006, over 5 years ago. Daniel Brandt has been at this for a long time.
Next I read the talk page where the creator of the menu and a Brandt supporter were arguing about the word "illegal" being included in the template. It is not illegal to accuse a person of doing something illegal, especially when it is the truth. While posting publicly available information may not be illegal, blackmail and harassment are against the law in every civilized western country
. The conversation:
It starts out innocently enough. The Daniel Brandt supporter explains his concern calmly and politely, but then when he doesn't get what he wants he goes straight to blackmail. If I had to guess I would say that Daniel Brandt was probably feeding his responses, but that is just my theory and there is nothing to back that up other than the language being used being almost identical to how Brandt speaks. It may be nothing more than his influence rubbing off on the editor.
The Brandt supporter then make this statement:
Regardless, anyone who's familiar with the situation isn't going to see "illegal techniques" as a deliberate or humorous exaggeration - phrases just like that have been used many times on Wikipedia lately to describe what Brandt is doing, by people whose sense of humor is a lot less well-developed than ours is (to put it charitably).
Now why would language like that be used many times on Wikipedia to describe what Daniel Brandt is doing? Why would honest, intelligent, normal human beings like the esteemed editors at Wikipedia use this language if it were not happening to them? Normal people don't call people criminals for no good reason (
More reactions to Brandt's abuse from regular people in this post). Normal people do not accuse others of stalking them if it simply is not true. The poster then admits to Wikipedia user's lack of humor (I am sure they have a sense of humor, however Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia so on-site it is all business), so you can surmise from that they are not joking.
What is fact, however is this:
OK, fine. I can certainly wait a while longer for y'all to realize what's (not) going on! I was just trying to look at the big picture, that's all. My point still stands regarding what will happen when Brandt finds out about this, though - there's a good chance he'll start "hive-minding" the admins here at Uncyc too, it'll be perfectly legal as long as he only quotes public sources and doesn't violate any copyrights, and let's face it - some of the admins here might not have covered their tracks sufficiently. c • > • cunwapquc? 15:04, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
When not getting his way he goes straight to blackmail. "If you don't remove this Daniel Brandt will start 'Hivemining' you next". This is the train of though Daniel Brandt has introduced into the MediaWiki world. Petty, spiteful blackmail for no other reason than to get his own way. Daniel Brandt has been taking hostages on the internet through fear for many years and it needs to stop.
